Dr. S.M. Desarda is the founder Principal of D.K.M.M. Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad. The College is established in the year 1989 with Diploma Course in Homoeopathy and now it offers Courses upto P.G level. He was inspired by Late Mishrilalji Maharaj Sahab and also encouraged by college management. The College has reached at the highest level in a very short period only because of dynamic leadership of Dr. Desarda. The standard of education could be maintained because of continuous efforts and vigilance of the Principal of the college. Dr. Desarda is the first Gold Medalist for Homoeopathic Science studies in the State of Maharashtra.He is honoured with .FIBR. Fellowship and also with different awards. He has interest and positive view about research activities and so the college has carved out a name for itself at all India level for its research activities.

The teaching departments, hospitals and peripheral hospitals, hostels are developed well because of the administrative calibre of Principal.
Apart from the post of Principal Dr. Desarda holds different posts on various Authorities in the field of homoeopathy at State and National level. He is the member of the Central Council of Homoeopathy; New Delhi; Dean of the Faculty of Homeopathy of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad; Member of the Management Council, Academic Council, Faculty of Homoeopathy and Board of Studies in Homoeopathy of Maharashtra Universiy of Health Sciences, Nashik. He is also functioning as Chairman and member of B.O.S., Senate, Academic Council, Board of Exams of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University, Aurangabad. He is co-opted / nominated on various
authorities of different Universities and also holds membership/ President ship of different Associations. He has good rapport with the teachers of the college. It is only because of Dr. Desarda, a dynamic person having sound and profound views that the college could attain the present status.
